Later this month, Bahraini-British GT3 team 2 Seas Motorsport will embark on its debut run at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, and the final piece of the puzzle is confirmed with the addition of Frank Bird to the driver line-up. Completing the Gold Cup entry, British driver Bird joins Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup line-up of Isa Al Khalifa, Martin Kodrić and Lewis Williamson at the wheel of the #60 Mercedes-AMG GT3.

After progressing through multiple racing formulas in his early career, including single seaters and rallying, Frank made his GT3 debut in 2020, where he made his first start in the 24 Hours of Spa. Frank was named an official Mercedes-AMG Junior Driver for 2024, and joins the team with a strong knowledge of the Mercedes-AMG GT3. Last season saw the 24-year-old contest the GTWC Sprint Cup in the Silver Cup, scoring three wins, as well as claiming victory in the GT2 class at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, underlining his strength in endurance competition.

“It is really exciting to be joining 2 Seas Motorsport for the Spa 24 Hours. It is one of the biggest races in the calendar which, as a driver, you always hope to be involved with – especially with this being the 100th edition – so it is great to get the call up to be part of the 2 Seas effort. I’m looking forward to getting cracking, and I know several of the team already, so ready to hit the ground running.
“It is one of the biggest races in the world, and it is an achievement to just get to the finish. I’m joining a great line up alongside Isa, Martin and Lewis, so there’s no reason why we can’t put together a strong challenge. We will be approaching it step by step, looking to stay out of trouble, and make it through the various milestones - get to the morning, and look to keep fighting to the end. The team is doing a great job this season in British GT, and they’ve shown themselves to be contenders on the big stage in the past. I can’t wait to get going, and a big thanks to Mercedes-AMG and to the team for the opportunity.”

“I am delighted to welcome Frank to the team for the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, and also to be driving alongside him. I feel we have a strong line-up with Martin and Lewis, and Frank is a great addition. He knows the car extremely well, and brings experience of the race as well, so he’s a huge asset to us as a team. I am really looking forward to the whole race week experience. It will be the biggest challenge we’ve faced as a team, so far, but it is a case of doing what we know, and doing everything the way we know we can to be there at the end.”

The team is no stranger to endurance competition, having contested the Gulf 12 Hours for the past four seasons, claiming back-to-back victories in 2021 and 2022. This season sees 2 Seas Motorsport campaigning in the GT World Challenge Endurance Cup for the first time, alongside a two-car British GT challenge, where they currently hold P3 in both the Drivers’ and Teams’ standings after five rounds.

The 2 Seas Motorsport team heads to Belgium for the SRO Speedweek – back-to-back race weekends at Spa-Francorchamps, headed by the British GT event. The CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa takes place as the second weekend, 27-30 June.
