Double line-up revealed as 2 Seas Motorsport confirm return to the British GT Championship
2 Seas Motorsport will return to the British GT Championship with a two-car effort for the 2025 season. Kevin Tse and Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Maximillian Götz will once again race together in the #18, joined by Kiern Jewiss and Charles Dawson in a second Mercedes-AMG GT3. This will be a sixth consecutive season for the team in the series, and the fifth time fielding two cars.
Kevin and Maximillian rejoin the team for a second challenge for the Pro-Am title, having enjoyed strong results last season. The pairing combined to secure two race wins and a pole position at the wheel of the #18 Contempo Concept Mercedes-AMG GT3 with its fan favourite livery. This year, they bring another exciting livery with sponsorship from A Bathing Ape, which has been a symbol of Japanese street fashion for more than 30 years. Kevin will start his fifth season in the series when first action gets underway at Donington Park next month, while 2021 DTM champion, Maximillian returns after his maiden season.
The new partnership of Kiern Jewiss and Charles Dawson brings together two exciting talents, who have shown strong potential in recent years. After taking overall honours in the F4 British Championship in 2018, Kiern was crowned Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain champion before moving into GT3 competition. His new teammate in the #42 Mercedes-AMG GT3, Charles Dawson, returns to the British GT grid, as he makes the transition up to GT3 competition. With a race win and three further podiums last season, he finished P3 in the championship standings, alongside scoring further success on the European scene.
“It is fantastic to confirm a return to racing after a year out of the car, and I’m excited to join 2 Seas Motorsport and partner with Charles. It is going to be new challenge, having not driven the Mercedes-AMG GT3 before and it is a new championship for me to get to grips with, so we will be looking to make the most of each session. It will definitely be a learning process, and it is shaping up as an incredibly strong grid, but I can’t wait to get into it.”
Kiern Jewiss, 2 Seas Motorsport driver, #42 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
“Following the success in British GT, winning the GT4 Pro-Am title, it felt like the right time to step up to GT3. To be able to do so with a team like 2 Seas will be a fantastic experience. I am really looking forward to spending the season with them, developing my skills, and working with Kiern who comes with a fantastic background. He is a brilliant talent and, together, I think we make a really strong pairing, but our goal is simple as we look to enjoy the season, learn and develop. It will also be amazing to experience the British circuits in the GT3 car.”
Charles Dawson, 2 Seas Motorsport driver, #42 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
“It is great to be back with the crew at 2 Seas Motorsport, and running again with Max. Last year, we showed ourselves to be a strong package, but we lacked consistency across the season. It seemed that we were all or nothing – either taking a win or not scoring any points – which is not the way to tackle a championship. This year, we are in a much better position in terms of preparation, including having a more focused testing programme, and the aim is to execute every weekend as we know we can. If we can do this, without any mistakes, we will be championship contenders.”
Kevin Tse, 2 Seas Motorsport driver, #18 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
It’s great to be back with 2 Seas, running with Kevin again. It really feels like home being with the team – I know all the boys, I know the car, and now I have knowledge of each of the tracks, so I am really looking forward to seeing what we can all achieve together. Kevin and I share the same passion for racing. We had some really strong runs last year, and we are not just there to just make up the numbers. We both want to win and, with Kevin, I think I have one of the strongest teammates possible, so a big thank you to him for trusting me again for this year. The car looks great with its new livery, and hopefully we can some slightly better weather than last year, as we had more rain than sun, although at least I am already used to each of the tracks in the wet already!
Maximillian Götz, 2 Seas Motorsport driver, #18 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
“The British GT grid continues to strengthen every year, and it looks like 2025 will be no exception. I’m really pleased to welcome Kiern and Charles to the team, and to have Kevin and Max back with us for a second run at the title. I think, between them, the two line-ups will be extremely strong, and will push each other on at every event. Kevin and Max proved themselves as real contenders last season, so they will be hard to beat, and Kiern and Charles are a really exciting prospect now they are partnered up. It’s going to be great to watch!”
